Beautifully converted from a two hundred year old former barn, Swn Y Mor is a four bedroom self-catered cottage with extraordinary sea views. The property is now available to rent for parties of up to ten people looking to holiday on the Welsh coast in style. Thoroughly updated inside and out to create a unique holiday space which combines the authentic architectural charm of the region with everything you need from a twenty first century beach holiday. Swn Y Mor is the ultimate coastal retreat for large friend groups and whole-family gatherings, and makes a perfect spot for multi-generational groups.
Ideally located in this tranquil landscape, the former barn overlooks the picturesque and quiet Trefadog beach, which can be easily accessed from the bottom of the garden. Internally, the property is spacious and light-filled, designed for large and close-knit groups to have lengthy, laughter-filled days in charming surroundings. On the ground floor you'll find two bedrooms with easy, no-stairs access, as well as a shower room and two toilets. Up the carpeted staircase there is a substantial living room with a vaulted glass ceiling and vast glass windows offering unbroken views over the sea and to Holyhead mountain and port. There is abundant comfortable furniture, and a large television for movie nights. From this space a pair of French windows open onto a Juliet balcony with Irish Sea views.
On the same floor you'll find the main bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, a king-sized bed, a flat-screen television and plenty of storage. The private bathroom is another winning feature, bathed in sun from the skylight and boasting both a standalone bath tub and walk-in shower. Next door is a children and teenager-friendly bedroom with two full-sized bunk beds. Guests in this room typically use the family-style bathroom on the same floor.
As well as the Juliet balcony, there is a spacious and closed-off patio, which becomes a real sun trap, as well as the idyllic garden which slopes down to the beach. While this is the perfect cottage for a beach holiday, guests will be pleased to find that there is a range of amenities and businesses nearby. Golfers should check out the nationally renowned Anglesey Golf Club, and the trip to Llanfaethlu is well worth making to visit the Blas Mwy pub.
Further afield but reachable in just twenty minutes by car, you can get to the ferry port town of Holyhead, which is packed with great eateries, many specialising in fresh local fish and seafood. From formal, high-end restaurants to more casual family-style spots with great views, there is an abundance of bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants in Holyhead, plus dozens of independent shops, museums and galleries.
