The detail

Summerhouse makes an ideal getaway for two, whatever the season. Perfect for lazy summers and cosy winter breaks, this luxury lodge makes the perfect romantic holiday escape and is located near Hay on Wye.

Small yet perfectly formed, the cabin has a living area that overlooks the river, with floor to ceiling windows that open on to a terrace with outdoor seating that also makes the perfect spot to sip a morning coffee or toast the sunset. Inside, there’s a cosy spot with a sofa, armchair and a wood-burning stove to read a book or watch tv or a movie, plus a wll equipped kitchen awaiting your culinary skills.

The most exciting part is the large, comfortable fully made bed that you pull down from the wall to sleep on. This quickly and easily creates an inviting place to sleep, and once pulled in lets you warm your toes by the wood burner.

Fresh coffee is provided in your welcome breakfast basket for your stay along, with cosy Welsh woollen blankets, towels, linens, robes and an ipod dock for your tunes.

Eat out at nearby Llangoed Hall, a short walk away, or Felin Fach Griffin gastropub is only a 10 minute drive. Hay-on-Way, home to the literary festival in early summer, also offers you plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. If you’ve always wanted to go wild swimming, dive in at a spot just up the road from the house. Proximity to the Brecon Beacons also offers you countless opportunities for walking.
