Situated in the marvellous countryside of Argyll, Strathlachlan Lodge offers groups of up to six guests a fabulous base from which to explore the area. This rustic, yet supremely comfortable, lodge makes use of New England and Highland styles, to create a warm, homely atmosphere that you and your loved ones will adore. On top of all this rural charm, you’ve also got the added luxury of the six-person high-spec Milan jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna.
The original building was built over 200 years ago and sits in a rugged, mountainous forest on the east side of Loch Fyne in Argyll. As you approach the lodge you’ll be astounded by your surroundings in what is truly one of the most picturesque parts of Scotland. Once you step inside, you’ll find a cosy, characterful interior with wood panelling and quality furnishings throughout.
Gather in the living room and warm your toes in front of the grand log burning fireplace. Sink into the super-comfy, squishy leather sofas and socialise with your loved ones as the fire crackles away. This is also a great spot to relax with a good book or enjoy a movie on the TV. There’s also a cosy snug area that’s perfect for kids and comes with its own TV, a DVD player and a Playstation 3.
When it comes to meal prep, the kitchen is nicely equipped with modern appliances, so you have all you need to cook up delicious meals throughout your stay. Dine alfresco in the summer sunshine whilst gazing at the view or at the round dining table inside.
In warmer months the garden is the perfect place to socialise. You can sit on the comfy outdoor seating on the deck that offers yet another cracking vantage point for the mountain views. Or, lounge on the lawn in the sunshine before hopping in the six-person jacuzzi that sits on the patio. The jacuzzi has mood lighting and jets for added luxury.
There’s also an outdoor heated shower close by and a genuine Finnish four-person sauna cabin that has chromatherapy lighting. The sauna also comes with a changing/resting area with a shower cubicle and towel storage. You even have an outer relaxation room that has two loungers and two vintage Swedish easy chairs. Both the sauna and the relaxation area have underfloor heating and music provided by a bluetooth BOSE sound touch speaker.
When bedtime beckons the three bedrooms offer sturdy, big beds and calming neutral decor. Enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep thanks to your serene woodland surroundings before waking up to enjoy a morning coffee outside amidst the trees.
Your lodge sits in the charming hamlet of Strathlachlan, which is home to just 10 cottages. You’re surrounded by open countryside, forests and mountains on all sides and you’re only one mile away from the picturesque shores of Loch Fyne. Enjoy spectacular walks right from your door, which allow you to destress as you take in your surroundings. The local village has two shops, a Post Office and a tea room, as well as a local pub. Guests who fancy dining out should visit the fabulous Inver Restaurant near Loch Fune, which overlooks Lachlan Bay and Old Castle Lachlan. You’re also a 25-minute drive from Inveraray and Inveraray Castle and an-hour-and-a-half from Glasgow.
