The South Lodge on Twizell Estate is a restored 19th century gate lodge near Warenford that sleeps six. A haven for nature lovers and countryside enthusiasts alike, Twizell Estate is a fantastic place to observe some truly charming species of animals in their natural habitat, including the rarer red squirrel and Wilma, the local peacock. Time spent outdoors on the estate can easily be a civilised affair, too, with the South Lodge offering guests access to a private south-facing garden, as well as a roomy patio with extensive seating and a fire pit.
Truly, the South Lodge has something for everyone. It boasts a combination of more formal and laid-back living and sitting spaces, allowing guests to dress up or down depending on the mood of the day. And, to complement the property's authentic period features, the South Lodge offers charming decor and art by local artists, creating an air of laidback elegance throughout.
With three opulent double bedrooms and two gorgeous bathrooms, the South Lodge is comfortably able to accommodate groups of six who appreciate being able to maintain a level of privacy while enjoying their getaway together. Additionally, the property is home to a fully equipped kitchen, which makes up part of the open-plan kitchen and living space. The kitchen features an electric AGA, fridge and freezer unit, dishwasher, combi grill and microwave and a pantry cupboard with extensive storage space.
Located in the sitting room are plush sofas and armchairs, as well as a wood-burning stove for cosy winter nights in. The drawing room also boasts generous sofa seating, and the sitting room is home to an entertainment system with a smart TV, DVD player and surround sound system.
The nearby village of Warenford is charming and picturesque, ideal for an afternoon stroll or pub visit. Belford, another settlement in the area, is ideally located for local amenities, including a Co-Op and a variety of local artisanal food merchants.
The South Lodge is located just a short drive away from the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with plenty to do and see for young and old alike. History enthusiasts are sure to love the epic vistas of Dunstanburgh Castle, while Bamburgh Beach makes for a lovely destination for a summer's day spent by the sea.

The property is available for weekend breaks (Fri-Mon) in the low season only.
Dogs are most welcome and they are charged at £15 per dog per week. Maximum of 2 dogs.
