Built from an old army trailer and set on a peaceful farmstead not far from the market town of Holsworthy, Devon, this shepherd's hut is truly one of a kind. Although compact, the cabin has everything you'll need to enjoy a fun and relaxing stay. The interior has been meticulously decorated by the owners, while the exterior offers lots of space, sumptuous views of the surrounding countryside, a fire pit and even a wood fired hot tub. And if all that wasn't enough, you will be just a stone's throw from some of the region’s most popular spots. And that's without even mentioning the nearby Dartmoor National Park. Sleeping a maximum of two guests, the Shepherd's Hideaway is an ideal retreat for those couples who enjoy nothing better than a peaceful stay and the comfort of each other's company.
All the fixtures have been custom-made, lending Shepherd's Hideaway a bespoke aesthetic that is both rustic and homely. The kitchenette has ample workspace and comes equipped with a fridge, gas oven, stove and the usual utensils. After all, just because it's small doesn't mean you can't cook yourself a slap-up meal! Off the kitchen you will find a dining table which comfortably seats two and sits by the window - perfect for enjoying the country views over breakfast. A comfy double bed sits opposite, adorned in luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding to give you the perfect night's sleep. Step outside the hut and onto the terrace where you can relax at the outdoor furniture, sit by the firepit and cook al fresco or simply take in the countryside views from the comfort of your very own wood-fired hot tub.
The local area has lots to see and do. The region is a firm favourite with nature lovers - perfect for long country walks and cycles. You will also find your fair share of dramatic beaches including Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth Bay and the pebble beaches of Millook and Summerleaze. Other places to visit include Rocky Valley, Dartmoor National Park and Clovelly, voted Britain’s most Instagrammable village in 2020. For the get up and goers, Tamar Lake Activity Centre, Big Blue Surf School and Cholwell Riding Stables are all within an hour's drive.
