Tucked away in the charming greenery of the New Forest, Ridge Cottage is a spacious and beautifully furnished holiday home, ideal for larger families and groups of couples looking for the ultimate rural retreat. Boasting an expansive garden with a jacuzzi, world class kitchen appliances and a range of activities within easy distance, Ridge Cottage really does tick every box.
The cottage itself has been comprehensively refurbished to create a chic and luxurious space which combines architectural charm with slick modern amenities and a Scandi vibe. Think engineered steel stoves, high ceilings, a clean neutral palette and plenty of snug places to relax with a good book and a glass of wine. On clear, sunny days, the light simply pours into the space through huge windows and full height bifold doors through which you can see views of the landscaped gardens and rolling wooded hills.
The kitchen is a delight to cook in, packed with high-spec appliances including an enormous American-style fridge freezer, wine fridge and Nutribullet. From your first cup of coffee on the huge patio which opens off the main living space, to your final cocktail in the jacuzzi under the stars, every moment is filled with the little pleasures in life which make a holiday unforgettable.
There are four bedrooms sleeping eight guests. The master comes with luxurious super king bed and shares a smart Jack and Jill bathroom with bedroom two, a generous king size. Bedroom three comes with a double bed and balcony with lovely views over the garden, and bedroom four is a neat double. Plus there's also space for a little one on a pull-out bed downstairs. The property has three bathrooms, one shared en suite, a large family bathroom with a jetted whirlpool bathtub and a handy shower room and WC downstairs..
Days at Ridge Cottage are spent either lazing around in the jacuzzi and games room, or with trips to the nearby beach, picnics in the woods, and rambles through the village. Snuggle together for a movie night in the TV annexe with its table tennis table, or take the short walk to one of the area's pubs for a slap up meal. You can burn off those extra calories later at the home gym, complete with treadmill, cross trainer and weights.
Although there's enough space and activities on offer that you rarely need to leave home base, the local area offers a range of diversions, from Avon Beach just five miles away to Dur Hill Inclosure with its magnificent trail, just a mile's hike away. For excellent pub food stroll to The Three Tuns with its local ales and seasonal menu. Active guests should head to Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre to try their hand at adventures including archery, climbing and paddle boarding.
