Named after the highest point of the Cambrian Mountains, Pumlumon House is an award-winning barn surrounded by beautiful Welsh countryside on Tynrhyd Retreat’s private estate. Impeccable interiors are spacious and filled with light. With room for up to 16 guests, it’s perfect for a memorable group holiday. And, as it’s a dog-friendly property, you won’t need to leave any members of the family at home.
The shared onsite facilities are fabulous, with a large hot tub, 13 acres of meadow and woodland to explore, a great games room and a spectacular Great Hall to use as you please. This breathtaking property is truly unique.
Entering the property through the Great Hall, you’ll be welcomed into a beautiful large open-plan kitchen and dining area. Housing all the mod cons you’d expect of a property of this standard - it also has a commercial sized range with a six ring gas burner. With lots of counter space and light flooding in through the windows, it’s the perfect place to inspire your culinary creativity. The dining table is large with plenty of room for all. And comfortable seating makes it a great space for the troops to gather in the morning to plan your day ahead.
The beamed lounge is the epitome of both comfort and style. With snug sofas, one-off pieces, and cozy rugs and sheepskins, it’s a great space for you all to come together. The efficient wood burning stove is the centrepiece of the room. With plentiful logs available from the Tynryhd’s own estate, you can enjoy some fantastically snug nights in next to the fire. And of course, there’s also a Smart television with Netflix ready and waiting to entertain at the push of a button. The timber-framed patio doors keep the room bright and airy, simply step outside to enjoy the patio area and awe-inspiring view.
There are four wonderfully light and spacious suites, sleeping from two up to five people. The styling is delightfully simple with crisp white linens perfectly complementing the wooden floors and beamed ceilings. The chic use of soft textiles and clever seating areas make the rooms wonderfully cozy and inviting. There are also Smart TVs with Netflix. And with each suite having its own modern en-suite, there are plenty of bathrooms to go round. Enjoy the Grohe showers whilst indulging in the gorgeous Myddfai toiletries.
The onsite facilities are second to none with a large hot tub that can seat up to 10 people, acres of land that you’re welcome to explore and an excellent games room (with billiards, a table tennis table and a veritable feast of board games). There’s also the Great Hall - a fabulously flexible space for you to use as you see fit, be it a banquet or perhaps a private cinema screening. With stunning views, underfloor heating, a glass roof and carefully selected bespoke pieces, it’s a truly impressive space for your special occasion.
In the local area there are plenty of great places to explore - be it pubs, restaurants or colourful seaside towns. The Devil’s Bridge with its impressive waterfalls is just down the road. Or if you fancy a local tipple, there’s also the fantastic Dyfi gin distillery. This tiny distillery was the winner of the Best British Gin 2018 at The Great British Food Awards - making it a worthy place to visit!
