Stunning converted Showman’s Caravan with room for six in the heart of Northumberland, ideal for coastal trips
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 3 nights
Combining old school charm with comfortable modern amenities, Plover is a beautifully restored former showman’s caravan, now available to rent as a self-catered glamping-style cottage space. Fitted out with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an additional pull-out sofa bed in the main living area, Plover is a versatile space which is ideal for pairs of couples, young families, or anybody else looking for a quirky base while they explore the stunning Northumberland countryside.
Plover is permanently based on a quiet, picturesque farm just fifteen minutes’ drive from the Northumberland coast, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the main living space and bedrooms there are far-reaching vistas of the farm itself which gives way to wild Northumberland fields and woods. As well as a fitted contemporary kitchen, offering all of the amenities you would expect from a holiday cottage, Plover contains two bathrooms, one with an ultra-luxurious bath, and a flat screen television. There are numerous charging points for devices and entertainment systems, and speedy free WiFi throughout the caravan. The caravan even comes with its own dishwasher and washing machine for added convenience.
The caravan is set up with a king sized bed in the main bedroom, and two twin singles in the other room, with all three beds capable of accommodating adults comfortably. The sofa bed in the living room is only suitable for children, due to its size. As well as spacious, airy interiors with extensive rural views, the caravan comes with ample outdoors space, as well as a full al fresco dining furniture set, Plover comes with a charcoal-fired barbecue, and a fire pit, the ultimate way to spend lengthy summer evenings with your friends and family and a bottle of wine.
The Northumberland countryside really is a staggeringly beautiful part of England, enduringly popular with visitors and locals alike. Situated on a working farm, Plover is perfectly positioned for days trips to the coastline and exploration of the inland towns. Carnaby’s is a great local café, an easy walk from Plover and a brilliant spot for coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea. A little further afield is the Pack Horse Inn in Ellingham, which can be reached in seven minutes by car for a pub lunch or a few pints of local ale in a great atmosphere.
Whether your ideal holiday is exploring historic castles like Chillingham or Alnwick, hiking the Cheviot Hills, or spending all day on the beach at Bamburgh, you’re ideally located to take in all that Northumberland has to offer. Birdwatchers are encouraged to head to Holy Island, book-lovers to Barter Books, and star-gazers to Northumberland National Park, the largest Dark Sky Park in the UK.
