Get back to nature high altitude-style at the wonderful Plana de Olot. With a swimming pool, large terraces and stunning views, it’s a mountain hideaway well worth finding
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 2 nights low season & 7 nights high season
In a truly spectacular setting, at an altitude of some 1400 metres, Plana de Olot is hidden away in the mountains of Spain’s Baixa Garrotxa region. Around 30 minutes’ drive from the cities of Olot and Vic, this beautiful home can accommodate up to 16 guests, and offers the use of an outdoor pool – even more tempting when you can breathe in the fresh mountain air.
With an amazing valley view, Plana de Olot is peaceful and secluded, making it a very relaxing choice. You will be within easy reach of the fine city of Girona, with the east coast not much further, so there is the opportunity for some excellent excursions during your stay.
The swimming pool is accompanied by a garden with covered terraces, providing an outdoor dining area with barbecue, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery. Bag yourself a lounger chair facing out to the valley and beyond, and you may not want to move all day.
There is direct access from the outdoor dining area to the open kitchen inside the house. You have another dining space indoors, as well as a cosy living room with a fireplace and lots of seating. There are plenty of ways to keep entertained at Plana de Olot, like TV, table football, ping pong and swings in the garden.
Three of the five bedrooms can be found on the first floor. You have a double bedroom with en suite and access to the terrace, as well as a room with four single beds, and another with twin beds and bunk beds. The remaining two double bedrooms are located in a smaller, separate house in the garden, where you can also find a bathroom and games room. Two extra beds can be added if needed, in the upstairs double bedroom in the main house.
There is so much for all the family to love at Plana de Olot, and the house is equally good for a large group of friends or a special occasion celebration. There are great hiking trails in the mountains, so there’s no excuse not to get active.
Olot is well worth a visit too. You can hang out on the terraces of the cafés and bars which line the ramblas, shop the street market, or admire the architecture of the city’s brightly coloured mansions. The volcanic countryside around the area should be safe to explore (it has been 12,000 years since there was an eruption), and is wonderfully scenic.
