The Details...

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and winner of multiple best British beach awards, Woolacombe, and the surrounding area, makes the perfect spot for a staycation. Breathtaking sunsets, dramatic coastal walks and the roaring Atlantic Ocean have bought visitors to the area for many years. One of the first homes to be built on its Victorian esplanade was Parade House built by Lady Chichester.

The house has recently been renovated into a collection of holiday lets and The Lookout is an ultra modern addition to the collection. The first floor is home to the kitchen/living area. Floor to ceiling windows wrap-around the room, so you are never a glance away from the spectacular sea views. A large leather Chersterfield-syle sofa makes a cosy spot to relax with friends in front of the contemporary log burner.

The kitchen is extremely modern and wonderfully well-equipped with Bosch Siemens appliances and a Nespresso machine. A large kitchen island is a great communal spot for catching up and keeping the chef company while they prepare the food. At supper time, head to the coolest dining room in town. Dinner is served in a glass room positioned above the bay with magnificent views of the ocean hitting the golden sands. It makes a wonderful location to have a celebratory meal, but even tea and toast will be unforgettable in this haven of light and natural beauty. At night, sit up late for drinks and chats as the stars and moon gaze down on you through the glass roof.

There are four luxury bedrooms, with crisp linen and stylish grey decor. The Master has a super kingsize bed and luxury ensuite with freestanding bath and shower and large dressing area. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and bedrooms three and four have a double and two twin beds respectively. There are two further luxurious bathrooms. Guests are also encouraged to enjoy a soak in the private hot tub that sits in your own courtyard garden, offering an added slice of luxury to your stay.

If you can drag yourself out of this lovely property, try a walk along Woolacombe Sands to neighbouring Putsborough Beach and stop for lunch at The Rock Inn at nearby Georgeham. It is a traditional pub which does lovely food. Food lovers will also enjoy a trip to Pannier Indoor Market in Barnstaple and love the array of fresh locally-caught fish and local specialities on offer. Stock up for picnics on the beach, or special meals in that spectacular dining room.
