The Old Pear Tree Barn provides eco-conscious holidaymakers with the perfect base from which to explore the north coast of Cornwall. Recently converted from an old barn and piggery, the house retains its original rustic charm while featuring state-of-the-art, eco-friendly systems which produce hot water and heating. Sleeping four in two beautiful bedrooms, the barn enjoys beautiful rural views and all the peace and quiet you could ask for.
Step into the beautiful open-plan kitchen with granite surfaces and charming high beamed ceiling and you’ll be welcomed with a hamper of Cornish treats and some local produce to get you started. Modern appliances and plenty of space take the stress out of the catering part of your self-catering holiday. The kitchen opens out onto the dining area which enjoys views of the courtyard and gardens and out to the countryside beyond. The inviting living room is located on the first floor and comfy sofas are the perfect place to snuggle up in the evening after enjoying a drink on the balcony.
The two bedrooms are both luxuriously furnished with premium mattresses and bedding. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom and French doors which lead out onto the garden. The twin room is bright, airy and delightfully decorated in neutral, relaxing tones. This room has an adjacent shower room.
Head out into the large private garden and enjoy the stunning views over the valley to the distant dunes. The patios and lawns are equipped for some alfresco dining with furniture and a barbecue. Have a picnic under the pear tree or recline with a coffee and a book on one of the loungers.
The Old Pear Tree Barn is located in an idyllic part of North Cornwall where you can find golden beaches, intriguing rockpools and endless views of the ocean right on your doorstep. Holywell Bay is six miles from the busy surfing destination of Newquay and is a more laid-back option for holidaymakers. Just a 10-minute drive from the cottage, you’ll find an opportunity to learn to surf away from the big crowds at the Holywell Bay School of Surf. Golfers can tackle the two local 18-hole courses with fairways overlooking the beach and the south west coastal path is waiting to be explored.
