Sitting on a gorgeous piece of land known as The Arbour, this lovely little cabin promises couple's a truly romantic getaway. Expertly constructed and lovingly decorated by the owners, Old Fred exudes a rustic charm amidst unrivalled scenery. With views of Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains and easy access to some of the UK's most striking countryside, you will have the perfect base to explore the area. Or, should you rather, the modern amenities, beautiful veranda, and hot tub should provide plenty of reason to stay put. The cabin sits in the picturesque Herefordshire countryside right by the Welsh Border, meaning that the Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away.
The cabin has been constructed using re-claimed materials, while natural fabrics add a distinct character to the interior. With an open-planned design, guests will be greeted by the living area upon entering. This cosy space contains a comfy couch, a wood burning stove, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV. The main feature, however, is the large picture window and its stunning views of the far-off Brecon Beacons.
The compact kitchen is well-equipped with most mod cons, and a breakfast bar seats two and looks out through the picture window. The king size bed sits separately from the living area, while there is plenty of storage space for clothing. An ensuite bathroom features a WC, basin, and walk-in rainfall shower.
Step outside the cabin and onto the veranda where you can sit in the sun loungers and enjoy the view, or perhaps have a soak in the hot tub? There is also a firepit area which is perfect for enjoying the night-time skies.
The local area is replete with walking and cycling trails, making it a firm favourite of nature lovers. The nearby woods offer a gorgeous spot to explore, while the Brilley Dingle nature reserve is not far. You will also be ideally placed to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is a fab spot for lovers of the great outdoors. The nearest small town - Hay on Wye - is a 10-minute drive away. This charming market town, known as a "town of books", is home to lots of cafés, independent shops, restaurants, bars, and a weekly market. If canoeing or kayaking is your thing, the River Wye runs very close to The Arbour. There are various local hire companies and the cabin's owners can provide storage.
