Nutshell cottage has been lovingly designed to reflect its original character whilst being modernised for maximum comfort. It sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and also welcomes up to two babies and a small dog! On entering this lovely home you'll discover a clever use of décor and mirrors to create a light and sunny but cosy open plan living and dining area with a table that comfortably seats six.
The Scandi style use of muted colours, basketry, linen, hessian, cream floorboards and vintage tiles gives the place a real sanctuary feel. And throughout the house you'll find lovely touches such as exposed original brickwork, tiered caulbing, repurposed Victorian radiators and the original chimney stacks blending seamlessly with the modern wall mirrors and cream carpets. There's a lovely feel of old and new here.
The galley kitchen has been kept simple with bright white walls and the room has all the amenities you could need to whip up a feast. There's even a Nespresso coffee maker for that all-important first cup of the day.
The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage and boasts a comfy super king bed and a small but beautifully designed en-suite with a shower over a cute bath tub and vintage floor tiles. Head up the cream stairwell to the first bedroom on the second floor and you'll find some gorgeous features like the tiered brickwork and exposed chimney stack. A low set super king promises a marvellous night's sleep and there's some lovely bedside tables made from original balsa hat boxes. The twin room is smaller, ideally suited for children or a single guest but it has great storage and if you don't mind the beds being very close together it shouldn't be a problem.
The other bathroom with a shower has been beautifully decorated and, as with the rest of the house, has excellent lighting, giving the place a calm vibe. There's a small, more rustic back garden with a nice wooden table and mix-matched seating where you can enjoy a morning coffee with the sun on your face.
The simple and effective layout is perfectly set-up for a holiday with family or friends wanting to explore the area. Situated slap bang in the centre of Lymington's old Georgian marketplace, you're only a short stroll from the main High Street where you'll find plenty of independent cafes, eateries and shops with the stunning Sea Wall coastal path nearby. A great place to take a blustery stroll, this particular walk takes you along a raised coastal path that follows the old salt marshes and offers views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. You can also explore the picturesque cobbled streets of the Old Town Quay, once a network for smugglers, and now a gorgeous spot to grab a drink and admire the bobbing boats.
The hosts highly recommend the Hurst Castle walk followed by lunch at The Gun. The area is perfect for foodies too and its well worth a visit to the buzzy village of Milford. There's an M&S and a Waitrose, both a three minute walk away from the cottage, and a fab bakery that does excellent croissants nearby.

Please expect our short stays to be 60%+ of our weekly prices. We are not a hotel and it takes a huge amount of work, especially with COVID around, to make the house clean and right for guests. Kids in travel cots stay free.
The prices above give a guide only. In peak season the price can be higher than the 'to' price shown here. We use a dynamic pricing structure which means prices can fluctuate slightly on a daily basis. Pricing depends on demand for this house and across the area. We cannot guarantee the prices quoted today will be the same in the future.
Min 2 nights in off peak and low season and 3 nights plus in peak season, tho, in summer holidays min 7 nights please.
