Deep in the pine forest, home to moose, lynx, squirrels and foxes, this beautiful location is a natural wonderland which makes for truly memorable holiday spot. These two cosy cottages are situated on the Nasets Marcusgard farm in the Dalarna region of Sweden.
The Hölada has a sloping roof and burnt red exterior and sits amongst the pine trees and lush green grass. Deckchairs and outdoor furniture welcomes visitors, enticing them with the promise of long summer days relaxing in the sunshine.
Inside, all the accommodation is on one level, and has been decorated and furnished in the deservedly-popular Scandinavian style. The large living and dining area features a dining table with bright and comfortable dining chairs, a huge corner sofa and a television/entertainment station. Into the kitchen, which is relatively basic but nevertheless adequately-equipped, and the window offers lovely views of the surrounding farmland. There are three bedrooms, one double, one bunk and one with two singles with comfy mattresses and calming views guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. All rooms share one bathroom which has a toilet and shower.
The Fähus is a stunning apartment with three bedrooms sleeping eight people. Set over two floors, this pretty Swedish cottage is complete with a sloped roof porch way and a pretty deck which stretches around the side of the property.
Step inside and guests are greeted with exquisite furnishings which are stylish yet warm and welcoming. Painted tongue and groove panelling adorns the walls and ceilings, the colour scheme throughout is light and airy with pops of bright colours courtesy of the orange sofas and dining chairs. The cottage has a magnificent open plan living, kitchen and dining area. Light streams in through the windows and illuminates the comfy sofas in the living area, the dark wooden structural beams and the large wood burner which sits as the centrepiece to this charming area. The kitchen is modern, bright and extremely well-equipped while the dining area is set off to the side. The large dining table can be candle lit for atmospheric dinners or simply enjoy breakfasts in the abundance of natural light.
Upstairs, two of the bedrooms have large bunk beds and, set in the roof, wonderful views. The master bedroom has a large double bed. A toilet room is situated upstairs and there is a larger family bathroom on the ground floor.
The owners offer a multitude of activities to ensure their guests get the most from their stay in this incredible environment, from torchlit night walks to the cosy bakery and cinnamon bun making lessons to dogsledding and cross country skiing.
