The detail
North Vat is a unique coastal house with impressive architecture set on a wide expanse of shingle beach, moments from the water. With three large double bedrooms it's ideal for a family or a group of friends seeking a peaceful retreat and plenty of sea air. The house has its own enclosed shingle beach garden and folding furniture is stored inside to be enjoyed during clement weather.
The home is set over two floors and is mostly open plan with a very large living, dining and kitchen area. The first thing that will strike you upon entering the property is how clean the lines of the interior are. With simple, luxurious furniture and no clutter, it immediately projects a sense of calm peacefulness. There are large skylights, big windows and sliding patio doors so that light floods the entire house.
The kitchen is very modern with a double electric oven and hob, built in fridge-freezer, compact dishwasher, and hidden storage incorporated into the drawers. You also have all of the crockery you could need to cook a fabulous feast and enjoy it at the beautiful bespoke wooden dining table, which amply sits eight people.
In the living area a very large cream sofa rests in front of a wood burner and the whole house also has underfloor heating, so despite its size and space it is warm and cosy when needed. There's a large screen TV and WiFi available though the signal is not strong. This is a place to switch off devices and unwind.
The first two bedrooms are on the ground floor and have double beds and storage for clothes and personal items and the master bedroom is on the first floor on an open mezzanine, and boasts a glass gallery balustrade with views of the sea. There's also bench seating, a wardrobe and a library wall of books. All of the rooms let in light though a couple do have blinds.
There are two bathrooms in the property. One is a wet room with an overhead shower, WC and sink and the other is an en suite shower room.
Dungeness in Romney Marsh is an Area of Outstanding Natural and Beauty and is a great place to witness sone stunning sunsets. The beach is wonderful, particularly when the tide is out. It's a great base from which to visit Rye, via Camber and Hythe using the railway. There are a number of great local pubs serving good food, including the Britannia Inn, The Pilot Inn and Ales By The Rails. The owners will be more than happy to recommend places to eat and visit.
