This spacious and well-equipped holiday cottage sits in between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, offering groups of up to 18 guests a charming home in Devon. This former chapel dates back to 1860 and has been converted into a beautiful, five-bedroom holiday home with everything you’ll need for an enjoyable stay, including a luxurious hot tub.
The spacious, open-plan living area has a double-height ceiling and lots of room for you and your loved ones to spread out and relax. Lounge on the big comfy sofas whilst taking in the view from the many chapel windows or watch a movie on the 55 inch smart TV staying cosy in front of the log burning fireplace. This space also has a full-height hall window that offers sweeping views across the Devon countryside.
The living area features a nicely-equipped kitchen with all the modern amenities of a home kitchen, including a solid oak worktop, a double fan oven, four ring induction hob and a double butler sink. There’s also a four-slot toaster, a large slow cooker and a dishwasher so no one gets lumbered with the washing up. Guests can enjoy delicious feasts on the bespoke dining table, which has benches and chairs for up to 16 guests.
When it comes to entertainment, the chapel has lots to do. The games area is home to a 43 inch TV, an xBox 360 games console and a large selection of games. The kids will also love the table football table and the wonderful selection of toys and games.
The chapel’s incredible courtyard garden offers guests a secluded space to socialise in the sunshine. Hop into the luxurious large hot tub and stargaze in style with a glass of bubbly. You can also do some alfresco grilling on the BBQ before dining outside in the fresh country air. The courtyard also features a large fire pit surrounded by plenty of seating, meaning you can gather round and warm your toes as you toast marshmallows on the flames. The chapel features a balcony that runs the entire length of the main living space, offering yet another vantage point to take in the panoramic views. The balcony features bistro seating, providing you with a peaceful place to relax with a morning coffee or an evening drink.
North Lake Chapel is situated amidst the unspoiled, rolling countryside of mid Devon close to the small village of East Worlington in the Little Dart Valley. You’re also nicely located to visit the small town of Chulmleigh and the village of Witheridge, both of which have a nice selection of local amenities including shops, cafes, pubs and takeaways.
Lovers of the great outdoors will be delighted with the fab walks that you can enjoy right from your doorstep. Explore the Two Moors Way, which spans 102 miles from Ivybridge on the southern boundary of Dartmoor National Park to Lynmouth on the North Devon Coast in Exmoor National Park. This route passes North Lake Chapel along the road in Witheridge, so you can access it with ease.
