The detail

Indulge in a bit of the good life with two wonderfully cosy glamping options. Choose from one of the three unique E-den cabins or the beautiful Shepherd’s hut. All sit in a pretty orchard with breathtaking views out to Glastonbury Tor. And the excellent onsite facilities, including your own private (lockable) bathroom and a heated indoor pool, makes Midlewick a rather luxurious glamping affair.

The three E-den cabins (Adam, Eve, and Apple) are stunning. Timber clad, with a large canvas awning and with their own stable door - it’s a wonderfully quaint introduction. Inside, the cabin is fully heated, insulated and double-glazed. Featured on George Clark’s Amazing Spaces they showcase the very best in innovative design and comfort. Inside each cabin, you’ll find all you’ll need for a comfortable stay - including a kettle, toaster, fridge, crockery and utensils. All cooking is done outside the cabin - choose from the Weber BBQ that comes with your E-den or feel free to bring along a camping stove.

For comfort during your stay there is an outdoor bean bag chair and chairs. Take a seat outside and enjoy the glorious views out over Glastonbury Tor. The double bed is dressed in crisp white linen and allows you to take in perfect starry sky views out of the ceiling window. And the cherry on the top has to be your own private (lockable) heated wet room situated close-by.

The second option is a gorgeous Shepherd’s hut. With a 5ft10” bed it’s a delightfully cosy space. Dressed in pretty linen and with dual aspect windows, it’s the perfect romantic hideaway. And the private bathroom (a few steps away) and fluffy towels make it a luxurious retreat. Inside the hut there’s a mini fridge, crockery and use of washing facilities for any dishes. There are no cooking facilities here but you are welcome to bring a camping stove. Although the Shepherd’s hut is also fully insulated and heated, it’s only available during the spring and summer months.

As guests at Middlewick you are also welcome to use the onsite facilities, including the shared indoor heated pool and steam room - all are cleverly heated using the bio-mass boiler. You are also welcome to visit their onsite games and book library - there’s an extensive collection of spiritual, mystical and magical titles. And there’s also a small but incredibly well stocked shop. Offering up some of the best local produce, including home-raised pork, eggs, honey and apple juice. And if you really want to treat yourself, then morning breakfast boxes are also available to order - choose from the Traditional English or Full Continental.

Fabulously located in Somerset means there is plenty to do, including cycling, riding and fishing. And as you’re nestled under the shadow of Glastonbury Tor, a walk to the top is a must. Head out for sunrise or sunset and you’re guaranteed a memorable experience. And of course, the town of Glastonbury is just down the road. Being the capital of alternative culture, with more myths and legends than you can shake a joss stick at, it makes it a great place to explore.
