Built in the local style, using teak carpentry and imported tiles, Meda Gedara is in many ways the quintessential Sri Lankan villa. Boasting six bathrooms and a further half-bath, there are four double bedrooms for adults, plus a master suite with an adjoining bedroom for two children. A separate children’s bunk room also contains a larger bed for an accompanying nanny or older cousin.

Visitors flock to the Sri Lankan town of Dikwella from all over the globe, drawn to the easy pace of life, stunning historic architecture and undulating coastline which frames the azure sea. The Wewurukannala Vihara is a popular destination for anybody with an interest in religious sites or Sri Lankan architecture, while those in your party with a taste for water-sports will love the kaya tours of Mawella Lagoon. Between the vibrant markets, popular with tourists and locals alike, to the more formal fish and seafood restaurants, the town of Dikwella offers a range of fantastic culinary experiences, although of course the villa comes with its very own talented and trained chef, well-practiced in whipping up a delicious meals making use of seasonal local ingredients.
