Set in the peaceful hamlet of Llanwarne, within the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, this is a property where you can enjoy a wealth of walking from your front door. Garway Hill is close by, where on a clear day, you can enjoy views across five counties as well as keeping an eye out for the local wildlife. Also, within easy reach is the Wye Valley Way, Offa’s Dyke and the Forest of Dean. If you are looking for more challenging hikes and climbs, head to the Brecon Beacons National Park or visit Hay-on-Wye, known as the town of books and home to the renowned literary festival. Abergavenny is another great place to explore as it is a town rich in history and has a weekly farmers' market. Or why not head to Ross-on-Wye where you can stock up in the local deli and rummage in the antique stores.
This rustic barn has been painted in dark hues inspired by the garden blackbird. Step inside where you will be pleasantly surprised by the unique architectural style that cleverly blends both old and new. The ground floor space is open plan with high vaulted ceilings and skylights which open the barn up to the ever-changing light. The lounge offers a space where you can relax after a day exploring, with a wood burner, TV and DVD. The dining space takes centre stage within the barn; the reclaimed table and refectory chairs lend well to a hearty supper of local produce. The kitchen has been finished with rustic charm with a butcher block with stools for you to enjoy a morning coffee, along with fruit crates that are stocked with colourful crockery. The kitchen space offers an electric oven and five-ring gas hob, fridge/freezer and Nespresso machine. The bathroom is off the kitchen and has a deep, claw-foot bath, and powerful walk-in shower and WC as well as an intriguing collection of reclaimed carpentry tools. Climb the stairs to the bedroom on the mezzanine where the king-size bed is made with beautiful, fresh linen, and a cosy feather duvet. More magazines and books line the shelf on the stairway, and the Moroccan lanterns create wonderful patterns on the vaulted ceiling.
French doors open onto the private, paved courtyard, with a cleverly re-purposed carpenter's bench serving as an outdoor table, stools, and a BBQ. For wine enthusiasts, why not visit the owner’s vineyard where you can sample the local wines and enjoy a tasting and vineyard walk (by prior arrangement and dependent on time of year).
