Finished in whitewashed plaster and with a pitched roof, Little Cote resembles the quintessential farmhouse cottage in the home counties. As you step inside, you’ll find yourself in the main living space, an expansive and comfortable living room with hardwood floors, exposed wooden beams, and brick and plaster finishes. This room is the perfect space to congregate with friends and family, orientated towards the inglenook fireplace and replete with comfy sofas and armchairs. Oriental rugs and antique furniture complete the aesthetic of classically rustic comfort and luxury.
Next door, you’ll find a seriously well appointed kitchen, recently fitted and contemporary in its design, with a pleasing, functional aesthetic, clean lines, and light from the central window. Also on this floor is a shower room and lavatory, utility room with washing machine, and spacious study with a single bed and excellent views.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a subtle, understated aesthetic, finished in whitewashed plaster and wooden beams. There is also a bedroom with two single beds, ideal for children, and a full bathroom, with roll-top clawfoot Victorian style bathtub, and wooden floors. There's also a ground floor bedroom and shower. Everything in this 16th Century house has been chosen, designed, and crafted without compromise, creating a space which is truly pleasing to guests in its layout, furnishings and design.
Outside, sits the barbecue and the various seating options for those wishing to take themselves off with a cup of coffee and the newspapers. There's also a three acre wildflower meadow which has been painstakingly created in the grounds. Fragrant in every season, this extraordinary space is a haven for rare local birds and butterflies which flock here, creating a magical spectacle for guests.
The owners are landscape gardeners and pay special attention to maintaining a lovely secure main garden and look after the wildflower meadow with mown pathways and places to sit or picnic with the best views over the meadow or the rolling Suffolk countryside.
