This stunning modern cottage is nestled in its own secluded area in the picture-perfect village of Swerford on the edge of the Cotswolds. The property is large, spread over 2,400 square feet, and would be ideal for a family get together or a group of friends looking for an idyllic place to chill out in the countryside. The owners work in creative fields which is immediately apparent when you enter the cottage. The interior design and décor is pale and elegant with gorgeous pops of colour in the furniture and soft furnishings.
There are boot rooms at the front and rear entrance where you can kick off your wellies after a ramble, before heading to the fabulous vaulted kitchen, a perfect spot to gather for a cuppa and a big slice of cake. Decorated in pale colours with reclaimed wood and a tiled floor, this room is spacious and cool with a huge fridge freezer, Gaggenau oven and hob, a dishwasher, Lavazza coffee machine and everything you could possibly need for a small snack or a sumptuous feast from a Nutribullet to a range of Le Creuset cookware. The owners have also thoughtfully provided a selection of cook books for inspiration. There's a large wooden dining table with eight chairs providing a perfect place to enjoy a long lazy supper or dinner party.
There are four bedrooms in all, three with emperor beds and all with ensuites. Every room has been decorated with flair and attention to detail. There's a fourth room with bunk beds which is small, cosy and perfect for children. All of the rooms have Hypnos beds with 1000 thread count sheets from The White Company, Hungarian goose down super-king size pillows, White Company towels and a range of luxury ILA SPA toiletries for you to indulge in. You'll feel spoiled rotten.
The main living room is big and comfy with two large three seater sofas and an armchair placed so that everyone can benefit from the wood-burner on chilly evenings. The décor here is especially lovely with muted greys, pale accents and lovely art on the walls. There's a 36” TV too but you might prefer to just enjoy a drink and chat into the night. The owners have provided lots of board games and books for you to enjoy and there's an integrated sound system in the main living room and the kitchen if you fancy some tunes.
There's a second smaller snug living room as well with one large four seater sofa. The TV in here is 50” and comes with a Nintendo Switch for the gamers amongst you. There's another wood burning stove in here so everyone is toasty warm wherever they fall.
A very pretty conservatory overlooks the garden and there's a sofa and armchair tucked amongst the plants where you can enjoy the view or a snooze if the mood takes you. The garden is a joy, having both a private dining area with a BBQ for alfresco dining, and a greenhouse and kitchen garden for your use. The owners will leave a note telling you what is ready to be harvested at any given time of the year!
Swerford is a pretty hamlet close to the towns and villages of Burford, Stow on the Wold and Chipping Campden. You'll be only three minutes from Great Tew where you'll find the Falkland Arms and the delightful Quince & Clover Deli for all your beer and delicious treat needs. Soho Farmhouse is a short five minutes away and well worth a visit, as is the Didley Squat Farmshop where you can pick up some fine ingredients for dinner. If you fancy a day of luxuriating and shopping head to Daylesford Organic where you can enjoy some Spa treatments between boutique shops!
