These delightful huts sit in peaceful corners of the historic Chavenage House Estate, a beautiful location that has been used as a film set for several periodic dramas, including Poldark. Perfect for a romantic getaway, guests will have their own secluded space to themselves with their only neighbours being the local wildlife. The accommodation also includes the added luxury of a wood fired hot tub and a concierge service that can deliver food and drink options to your door.
You have a choice of four shepherds huts to stay in, Plum Tree, Cromwell, Macmillan and Poldark. Each have the same facilities but their own unique design and style. Inside you’ll find a comfy double bed, stylish furniture and a kitchenette with an induction hob and fridge. All the cooking and dining essentials are provided, as well as complimentary tea and coffee. The interiors are bright and airy, and on cooler days can be kept warm and toasty by firing up the log burner. The huts also have a bathroom with a flushing toilet, washbasin and vanity mirror. Outside is the alfresco shower, a wonderful way to start the day.
Guests at The Wild Carrot can relax outside in their own private glade and enjoy the stunning scenery of the countryside and the distant Chavenage House. The best place to take in the view is undoubtedly from the luxurious, Scandinavian cedar wood hot tub. The tub is filled with fresh Cotswold spring water, heated by a wood burner and brought to the perfect temperature, waiting for you to jump in. After an indulgent soak, why not light up the fire pit and grill dinner under the stars? If you don’t want to cater for yourselves, there’s an onsite café and bar a short walk from your accommodation, offering a fine selection of handmade cakes, freshly baked pastries, barista coffees, local ales and more.
If you can pry yourself away from the comfort of your accommodation, the 16th century grounds and surrounding area are waiting to be explored. Guests can hire out a bike (mountain or electric) and ride around the local lanes or join one of The Wild Carrot’s fantastic guided tours through the Cotswolds. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try out the Onewheel (a motorised, off-road skateboard), with the help of an experienced instructor! The picturesque market town of Tetbury is also nearby (around two miles away) and is home to many boutique shops, traditional pubs and excellent eateries to visit.
