Set in its own private gardens within the green and tranquil New Forest, Forest Drove Cottage is a substantial three hundred year old cottage, with modern amenities, an authentic thatched roof, and sleeping space for up to eleven guests between its six bedrooms. Ideal for larger families, groups of friends, or any other bigger parties looking to spend quality time together in one of southern England’s most celebrated landscapes, Forest Drove Cottage is a dreamy escape which will stay with you long after your holiday is over.
Although the house itself dates back considerably, a number of judicious touches have been made to bring the interior up to date, and a kitchen extension has created a light and airy feeling inside one of the cottage’s main communal living spaces. As well as the wood-burning stove in the Inglenook fireplace, there is underfloor heating throughout, so you’re guaranteed to be cosy in every season.
Downstairs, the living room is quaint and packed with historic charm, from the overhead exposed structural beams to the diamond window lattices. Choose between the formal dining room, with space for up to a dozen hungry holidaymakers, or head outside to eat in the sun, in your very own private gardens. Parents of younger children can rest in peace that the gardens are entirely secure, and enclosed. There is even a climbing frame-cum-fort outside, as well as a swing set and even a 10 foot trampoline.
Inside the house, two of the bedrooms are downstairs, a ground floor single bedroom, and a double bedroom with Sky TV and an en-suite wet room. The remaining four bedrooms are on the first floor, two have double beds and Freeview TV, another comes with twin beds, and the final bedroom is set up with Sky TV and beds which can be configured as twin singles or a double.
Easily accessible from London and the South Coast, the New Forest is a popular area with families, youngsters and outdoors enthusiasts alike. People are drawn to this green and wooded region to spend time getting back to nature, whilst taking in the rural way of life. Within easy walking distance from Forest Drove Cottage you’ll find two charming pubs, with excellent atmospheres, brilliant local beer and great food. A fantastic fish and chip shop can also easily be reached on foot, as well as a small Tesco, and multiple hiking and cycling trails. This is the perfect holiday cottage for any groups who enjoy lengthy walks through the countryside, followed by drinks on the terrace, and a hearty dinner together before settling down in the lounge by the fire to chat, read, or play boardgames.
