Ideally kitted out, designed and located for the ultimate off-grid romantic getaway, Five Oaks Shepherds Hut is a compact and comfortable hut and the perfect destination for individual travellers or couples looking to spend time far from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The shepherds' hut itself is located on a flat parcel of beautiful rural land, on a small footprint which also includes a covered outdoor dining and relaxing furniture set and the private hot tub, both of which benefit from the same privacy and substantial views. Everything is beautifully designed and benefits from the same timber and dark metal aesthetic, creating a sense of minimalism and subtle industrial beauty. Gravel paths connect the hut with the hot tub and the covered dining area, with a third path running to an uncovered area containing a timber bench and a metal fire pit.
Inside the shepherds' hut you'll find that quirky design and skilled craftsmanship have been utilised to create a functional and pleasing space. The bed is built into a whitewashed alcove, there are ample kitchen prep surfaces, and a two ring gas burner provides everything that a resourceful and outdoorsy couple could need for a long weekend away.
Off the open plan living and sleeping space you'll find a fitted modern bathroom with a high pressure hot shower and spacious, well-lit interior. Whatever the season and whatever the weather, South View House is a cosy and comfortable space, with contemporary facilities and pleasing indoor and outside space for a trip to the countryside. This hut is ideal for couples who enjoy a lengthy rural walk followed by a pint in a charming country pub, or those who just wish to sit and read by the wood-burning stove before preparing a home cooked meal and relaxing in the hot tub.
The property is located in the Oxfordshire countryside, with walking trails and footpaths located nearby. As well as rolling hills and unspoiled views, the amenities of Thame are located just a half hour stroll away. The Treacle Tea Rooms are well worth a visit, as is the excellent Black Horse pub, a 17th century inn with great food. For a truly unique experience, head a little further to the Birdcage Inn, a 1300s pub with steaks cooked at your table over rocks. The Bay of Bengal is also great for Indian food.
