A stylish English seaside break awaits guests visiting Fig Tree House which is found in a perfect location, just metres from the beach and in the centre of pretty Deal. Take a refreshing morning plunge amongst the waves and munch breakfast pastries on the sand before exploring the maze of Georgian streets which house plenty of independent shops, bars and restaurants.
This Georgian townhouse, which has kept many of its original features including lovely sash windows and high ceilings, has been impeccably decorated with light, fun colour schemes and stylish furnishings which create an atmosphere where guests will instantly feel at home. Enter into the large entrance area with its cool black and white tiled flooring, kick off your shoes and hang coats before heading to the lovely kitchen where weary travellers can enjoy a replenishing cup of tea.
Cool mint cupboards and light floors make this room a lovely space to create culinary wonders. Guest should be sure to head to the local markets for the freshest local produce (the Saturday market is a great place to stock up). The kitchen is well-equipped with all cooks might require for preparing the most delicious dinners. A separate dining room has comfy benches where guests can settle down and tuck into feasts at the large wooden dining table. Bi-fold doors pull back in warmer months bringing the fresh sea air through the house and giving access to the walled outdoor space.
There is a further dining table outside which is surrounded by lush green foliage and makes the ideal spot to relax on summer evenings with a drink at the end of the day. Guests can then head back inside to one of the two stylish living rooms. Sink into the comfy sofas and warm toes by the cosy open fire. Musical guests will be thrilled to find a piano and visitors are welcome to entertain friends with a sing-along.
At bedtime, choose from one of three lovely bedrooms, two doubles and a single. The two larger bedrooms have king-sized beds with crisp linens and thick duvets, plenty of inbuilt storage space to stash bags and large windows overlooking the street below. All three bedrooms have black-out blinds to keep the sunshine at bay until tired eyes are ready to start the day.
When it comes to things to do, there is plenty to keep guests busy, from the beachfront to the shops. Guests are encouraged to take a visit to Deal Castle and enjoy a stroll on the atmospheric pier. When it's time to refuel head to the highly recommended Frog and Scot, The Rose or The Black Douglas Cafe. For drinks, The Just Reproach, the town's micro pub, is a must-visit for beer lovers.
