Full of charm, this pretty, characterful cottage makes a cosy destination for a grown-up getaway in the heart of beautiful North Yorkshire.
Guests step over the pretty red brick porch way, past the handsome potted bay tree and a couple of comfy outdoor armchairs, and into a welcoming hallway where coats can be hung and boots kicked off. A set of deer antlers hang majestically against white walls and vintage furniture sits on large modern tiles.
Into the lovely open plan living and dining area where white decor and furniture gives a grown up, luxurious feel to this peaceful space. Across one side of the area the kitchen is located with classic modern units and all the equipment guests might need to create delicious dinners. Take a trip to the local farmers markets and independent shops and pick up some of the the lovely local produce. A pretty window, above the sink, offers lovely views outside which even makes washing-up a pleasure.
A round, wooden farmhouse-style table lies adjacent to the shaker-style kitchen and is well-sized for enjoying lengthy breakfasts and romantic dinners which last late into the night. And, after dinner, snuggle on the comfy couch and settle in to watch a film on the large, wall-mounted flat screen television. Get cosy on the velvet scatter cushions and rest a tray of drinks and snacks on the upholstered footstool/table.
On summer evenings, sip gin and tonics at the wrought iron table and chairs which are found in the sun-trap courtyard and listen to the birdsong as the sun sinks into the horizon.
At bedtime climb the lovely bespoke oak and glass staircase to the large bedroom with its reassuringly comfy bed. A custom made, feature headboard rises behind the super-king sized bed which is covered in crisp white linens and a high quality mattress. The bedroom is en suite with a modern luxurious bathroom where guests can wash away the day in the powerful rainfall shower before wrapping in the white fluffy robes and getting ready for dinner.
There are many lovely places to eat and drink in the area, nearby Masham has the The Bruce Arms and the White Bear which adjoins the Black Sheep Brewery (which is well worth a tour). This traditional market town, with its cobbled market square and annual sheep sale, is full of independent shops to browse and places to pick up goodies to enjoy back at the cottage.
