Quiet country lanes bring you to this idyllic spot, an ancient house sitting high in the Herefordshire hills.
Step inside to warming Aga, traditional country kitchen with large oak beamed playroom in one direction and large sitting room with roaring open fire, comfy sofas and plentiful reads in the other. Step up the ancient stairs, to find four light filled bedrooms, a cavernous en-suite master bedroom, a further king-size, a twin and an attic room, perfect for children.
Outside you’ll discover the tennis court, perfect for a friendly match, or spot of cricket practice. There’s heaps of space to explore, all safely enclosed for kids and dogs with far reaching views across the meadows.
Explore the Brecon Beacons and River Wye by foot, pedal, paddle or pony, pick up a fishing permit at the award winning village shop, uncover the Norman castles that lie around the local landscape and at the end of the day retreat back for fabulous family evenings by the fire….bliss!
One of the best views we’ve seen from a tennis court! Exclusive use of the tennis court is included in the rental price, but remember to pack rackets and tennis balls.
The Bridge at Michelchurch Escley is the local, serving wholesome local fayre and Herefordshire brews as the river meanders past. There are a number of good country pubs throughout the Welsh Borders, including The Temple Bar in Ewyas Harold, The Carpenters Arms in Walterstone and The Felin Fach Griffin near Hay. The farmhouse is also perfectly placed to head into Hay on Wye and discover Richard Booths Bookshop Cafe, St John’s & the River Cafe on the Wye in Glasbury.
