Old meets new in this heritage property, tucked away in a quintessential village in the English countryside. Once the Principle Manor House of the village, the 17th century farmhouse has been sensitively brought up-to-date, while still retaining its historic charm. Sleeping up to 10, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing, countryside getaway with family or friends.
At the heart of this welcoming home, you’ll find the bright and airy lounge. With exposed oak beams and a working fireplace, this room is packed full of character. A large window floods the space with natural light and the comfy sofas provide the ideal spot to relax and catch up with your guests. And if all the seats have already been claimed, the separate conservatory offers an alternative place to sit and chat and is particularly pleasant on a sunny day.
When you’re ready to prepare a meal, head to the slate-floored country kitchen, with its striking black and white colour scheme. This sociable space has all the mod-cons you’ll need to cook up a storm, including an oven, stove, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. There’s also a round table and chairs for informal, indoor dining. An archway from the kitchen leads you into an adjoining dining room, with a large wooden table and comfortable chairs.
When it’s time for lights out, you’ll find four tastefully decorated bedrooms on the upper floors. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed and an ensuite with a luxurious roll top bath, two doubles share a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom accessible from both bedrooms and there’s a family room with a double bed, double sofa bed and separate toilet. There is also an additional shower room downstairs next to the handy utility room.
When you want to make the most of the fresh, country air, there’s plenty of outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. In the private garden you’ll find a lush, green lawn and a large patio with a wooden table and chairs. For an extra touch of luxury, a hot tub can be added for an additional fee.
Dovecote Farmhouse is tucked away in the picturesque village of East Leake, where you can enjoy a drink in one of the traditional pubs or explore Meadow Park with its woodlands, open spaces and pretty brook. Keen walkers can follow one of the many trails around the park or through the surrounding countryside and golfers can practise their swing at The Rushcliffe Golf Club which is just a 10-minute drive away.
