Just returned from a wonderful couple of days on an impromptu off grid stay at Crowdy Hall, an unexpected gem of a find. Rustic charm with a design edge! Alasdair was the perfect host, going way above and beyond expectations to make my stay easy and welcoming. The thought that’s gone into the design of the cabin is evident - small but perfectly formed with clever little nooks and design features that make it work perfectly, with a layout that flows well despite its tiny size. I loved the snug with a curved back wall that hugs you and makes you feel at home, but it was a hard choice between here or the comfy bed which takes up one end of the cabin and has a picture window at its foot! The bed is super comfy, supportive, with great pillows, a cosy duvet & blanket. I loved lying in bed watching the night sky when it was clear. The cabin is positioned perfectly to make the most of natural light and views - exactly what I needed to just relax and do a bit of reading. Very calming. The wet room bathroom layout works well and I loved the bespoke copper pipe work fittings and steelwork basin. The fancy incinerator loo is genius and not at all daunting once you get the hang of it. A well kitted out and fully functional micro kitchen was great to cook in - a hob only though so come prepared! The portable lamps are useful for additional lighting when needed, and the USB sockets meant no problems with charging tech but it might be a good idea to bring a USB to USB-C adapter if your gadgets don't work with old-style USB connection. It rained and hailed one day which was the perfect excuse to enjoy an inside day. I explored a little when the sun returned the following day but didn't take full advantage of the various walking pathways. I will definitely be back for more, perhaps timed with the taproom weekend which sounds great fun. While I was a little unprepared for this impromptu stay, it was nonetheless the perfect spot for a spontaneous escape to unplug!

Crowdy Hall is a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in January so were prepared for it to be very cold, but the bed is incredibly comfortable with lots of extra blankets, and the place is heated by the little wood burner which does the job brilliantly. The kitchen has so much packed into the small space, everything you could need including some very useful touches like salt, pepper, oil and garlic! There are books and board games. The best part is the view from the bed! We slept with the shutters open so woke up with the sun over the gorgeous fields. Alasdair is a great host, couldn’t be more helpful. The toilet and shower have a bit of a knack to them but both worked great. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a rural get away.

What a wonderful stay at Crowdy Hall. My girlfriend and read all the blurb and came prepared planning for each specific meal. The cabins are small, but by no means does this ever impact the experience. Storage is more than ample to clear the clutter. Brilliant little wardrobe too for hanging coats and jumpers. The space usage is very cleverly used. Tastefully styles with some lovely use of fabrics throughout. Very handy shelving and clever collapsible dining solution. We had a sneak peak in the other cabins and are styled differently! Wood fire dead easy to start with tinder, kindling, logs and even slow burning blocks for the nights. Was a little worried about the toilet situation. Don’t be. Privacy, hygiene and it doesn’t smell either. And as for the beds and bedding remarkably luxurious, large (we are 5 11 & 6 3) and just offering a wonderful sleep. Those toppers!!! We went in mid winter and were toasty warm. Small cabins warm up super quick. Hot drinks quick and easy on the gas hob kept warm in the kettle on the top of the wood burner for top ups. The kitchen is really well stocked too. You don’t really need to bring anything (seasoning, and washing up stuff all looked after - tea and coffee too). We even got a free Prosecco!! But I definitely recommend, read the tips and plan properly to enhance your chill time by not shopping (cool box is provided). Four days of digital detox is good for me.

Wanted a winter break and had an amazing few days at Crowdy Hall. The perfect place for a January get away and a total digital detox. Our small luxurious cabin offered everything we needed with great style and quality, and there was plenty of firewood and tinder for the gorgeous log burner. A very comfortable seating area and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed cooking, having followed the Crowdy hall top tips, so took some provisions. There was plenty of hot water in the cleverly designed eco-friendly bathroom. The peace and tranquillity are were an absolute treat with only sheep for neighbours. we were well placed for plenty of good walking, visits to the coast and beautiful market towns. If you time it right, you can enjoy a pint at hopper house too! Can’t wait to return in a different season.

Just left Crowdy Hall after having a wonderful 2 night stay at the cabin! The cabin is stunning & beautifully designed. The view from the bed that looks out onto the field is amazing. The cabin has books, journals, cards & board games! Great if you are looking for a digital detox which we were. Al is a fantastic host and was super informative about how things work in the cabin. He also suggested some amazing things we could do outside of the cabin like where to eat and where to walk. He kindly organised calf feeding which was an amazing experience! We have already booked to come back for 2023!

An absolutely beautiful stay in a wonderfully quiet location. Everything about Crowdy hall is thought through, from the stylish crockery to the “detox box”. Crowdy hall is a gorgeous space, perfect for a weekend away from it all. Alasdair is a fantastic host, very hospitable and welcoming.

We had a peaceful stay at the cabin. It has a cosy 'hygge' vibe with all the creature comforts you need. The kitchenette is charming and practical. Alasdair was a great host and provided all the information we needed for our stay. Lovely to hear his commitment to off-grid. A beautiful place to switch off, unwind and enjoy the countryside.

The perfect place to relax and get back to nature. A very adorable and unique place to stay. We loved the log burning fire and the windows by the bed allowed for breathtaking views from morning to sunset. Alasdair is an excellent host, very helpful and it felt like nothing was too much trouble :-) . It was also an added bonus that we were able to visit the nearby farm and see the calves and get some excellent recommendations for food in the area. Wish we’d booked for longer !

A delightful place that encourages you to 'unplug' and 'reset' in the centre of nature, under a beautiful clear night sky! Getting away from it all, and getting back to the simple things, was SO refreshing and were even blessed enough to see shooting stars from the comfortable decking, the only bit that would have made this better is if we had managed to setup and light the fire pit (provided) before this happened! Whilst on initial look, I was worried about the space in the cabin, (because we rarely travel light), I was surprised just how much storage space there was under the bed, and we managed to tuck everything away and enjoy the spaciousness of the cabin throughout the stay! There's something lovely about getting back to the simple things and it was a delight to enjoy a log fire, and coffee, from the kettle that warmed slowly on the top of it too! Would definitely & have already recommended to those I know! 'A true blessing'

5 stars all the way, what’s not to love about this place from the first enquiry message all the way through to leaving Alasdair helped us. Any questions we asked he answered, on arrival we had Prosecco and strawberries chilling as well as a few other little bits. The cabin itself is to a high standard. The bed is incredibly comfortable and with an amazing view from the window at your foot. The kitchen is practical and stylish. The shower room is also very stylish. You need to make sure you know how to use a Cinderella toilet before you arrive ???????? we struggled a little bit to no concern. The decking area was a delight especially on a clear night. Fire pit, blankets, the view when the sun is setting and the stars ?? The cabin itself has a very rustic feeling and is extremely cozy. We highly recommend staying here if you want peace and tranquility. It’s definitely a couples retreat with an intimate feeling. The rolling countryside views are perfect for artists and walkers alike. Highly recommended would give more stars if we could.
