Corte del Norte retreat is comprised of two properties, Rock City House & The Love House, each with their own unique style but both equal in charm. Perfect for relaxing retreats, the accommodations are located in the fascinating town of Marfa, a major centre for contemporary art, in West Texas. With a whole wealth of exciting things to do nearby, as well as at the properties themselves, Corte del Norte makes for the perfect vacation destination.

Boasting all the style and amenities of a boutique hotel, guests will enjoy a luxurious stay in pretty, quirky accommodation at both Rock City House and The Love House. Soak up the warm Texan sun at the compound’s pool and marvel at the beautiful desert sunsets from around the fire pit or whilst enjoying a delicious home cooked meal under the pergola.

Rock City House is an exciting, one bedroom property decorated with whitewashed walls and bright, funky colours. The modern kitchen features gorgeous, colorful mosaic tiling on the walls and the indoor dining area is spacious, with a large round table seating up to six people. The living room comprises of a sectional, squashy blue sofa, which can double as two twin beds if necessary (meaning Rock City House can comfortably sleep up to four people), as well as a coffee table and two chairs. Large windows mean the room is well lit with natural light, giving it a bright and airy vibe. Rock City House’s bedroom is comfy and spacious. Its minimalist furnishings are contrasted by an impressive, eye-catching patterned tapestry hanging on the wall behind the queen sized bed. The house also has a full bathroom.

The Love House, with two bedrooms and one full bathroom, boasts a romantic vibe – as the name would suggest – with a hint of a charming Texan twist. Dark wooden floorings, kitschy patterned rugs and dark, navy blue walls, give the property a rustic feel. A large corner sofa (which can also act as an extra sleeping facility) frames a classic cowhide style rug and a coffee table. There is also a media room and an impressive dining area with long, wooden table. In contrast with the living and dining rooms elegant, dark walls, the bedrooms and kitchen are bright and airy. In the kitchen, the feature red cabinets and drawers immediately catch your eye. The bedrooms are both queen sized and extremely spacious. Gorgeous, unique rugs cover the wooden floors, giving the rooms an added homey feel.

The surrounding town or Marfa is packed full of delicious restaurants, boutique shops and numerous exciting galleries. Local café, Old Borunda Café, has seen customers such as James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor. Building 98 – a historic army Bachelor Officer Quarters, officers club and grand ballroom – is located nearby and guests should take a trip to enjoy the galleries within and the impressive murals dedicated to WWII German prisoners of war, covering over 3000 square feet of wall space.

For the adventurous, Big Bend National Park is close by where hiking, mountain biking, river trips and jeep tours are available.
