Sitting in the centre of the conservation town of Deal, is Cordyline Cottage. This lovely holiday home has been meticulously decorated by the owners, exhibiting a style which blends the contemporary and traditional to wondrous effect. Modern fixtures complement period features such as exposed timber beams and vaulted ceilings. Its location makes for the perfect base from which to explore all that the historic town of Deal has to offer, being just a hop and a skip from the centre's many amenities. Sleeping six guests across three rooms, Cordyline Cottage is the ideal family seaside getaway.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by the open planned living area. Housing the lounge, kitchen and dining area, it is the ideal social space. The sitting area has comfy seating, a TV and a cosy wood burner - made for curling up on chilly evenings. The compact and cleverly designed kitchen is well equipped, housing everything you'll need to cook delicious meals throughout your stay. Adjacent sits a six-person dining table which looks out onto the courtyard garden, which is a charming little space with seating and a BBQ - so get your tongs at the ready.
Ascend the stairwell to the first floor where you will find two of three bedrooms. All of the bedrooms have been considerately decorated, with a décor to beautifully match the rest of the house’s aesthetics. The first bedroom houses a double bed, while the second has a set of twins. This second room is perfect for the kids, but the beds can be zipped together to make another double. The bathroom is on the same floor, containing a WC, basin and luxurious walk-in shower. Head up to the third floor where you will find the king-sized loft bedroom sitting under a vaulted ceiling.
The charming seaside town of Deal boasts a rich history, with many beautiful buildings and places of interest. Cordyline Cottage is just a short walk from the medieval Deal Castle, while there are a handful of museums too. The town is home to lots of independent shops, café and bars. In the summer months, the promenade and beach are always full of people, both local and out-of-towners. If you fancy doing a little exploring, you will be perfectly placed to explore the greater Kent region. The nearby countryside is replete with stunning landscapes, making it very popular with walkers, hikers and cyclists alike. You will also be close to the Kent Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If history is your thing, the historic Cathedral City of Canterbury - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - is a 40-minute drive away.
