Nestled in Somerset’s beautiful countryside between the charming towns of Frome and Bruton, Marston Park offers romantic glamping surrounded by ancient woodland. You’ll find the Canvas Studios on the banks of a picturesque Victorian lake on the 76-acre property. Each of the tents has its own private section of the shoreline where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the water and plenty of peace and quiet. If you’re traveling as a larger group, there are 30 tents dotted around the property so there will be plenty of room for everyone.
The tents are spread out along the northern shore of the lake, set up so their doors open up to stunning views over the water. Inside, you’ll find a cosy space with a luxurious double bed made up with crisp, fresh linen. You’ll be able to open up the doors in the morning and enjoy the stunning scenery from the comfort of your bed. Inside the tent, you’ll find pretty bespoke lighting and electric sockets so you can keep any devices charged up. After dinner, get the firepit going and toast some marshmallows as the evening draws in. Then, retreat inside your cosy tent where a wood burning stove will keep you warm, even on chillier nights.
In your tent, you’ll also find fluffy towels, bathrobes and Bramley toiletries which you can use in the brand new bathrooms. These are shared facilities that are cleaned regularly and provide piping hot showers and flushing loos to complete the glamping experience.
On the lake’s southern shore, you’ll find the bar, restaurant and cafe along with performance and exhibition spaces. If you find yourself inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings, you can get involved with Marston Park’s schedule of live music, art exhibitions, workshops and classes. As well as creative activities such as pottery and willow weaving, you can book yourself in for yoga, meditation and fitness classes. There’s also a wild pool and a hot tub which can be booked in advance or there are pedalos for exploring the lake.
You can stroll through the surrounding woodland and grounds of Marston Park or follow the three mile route to the nearby town of Frome. This vibrant town is increasingly being known for its array of independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and is home to lots of artists and craftspeople. A little further afield, you’ll find the beautiful Hauser & Wirth art gallery in the town of Bruton, also a hub for creatives. Longleat Safari Park is nearby and the stunning National Trust gardens at Stourhead is another lovely spot for a walk.
