  The Detail...

Discover your outdoor happiness and let your imagination run wild as you head off-grid in the North Yorkshire countryside. With an inspirational rural setting on a 250 acre Manor Estate, Camp Katur is a once in a lifetime escape. Relax in magical country meadows and explore enchanting woodland glades, as you leave your gadgets behind and embrace Mother Natures ways.

Camp Katur is Icelandic for happy and is designed to fuse eco-friendly Nordic living with the Great British campsite. Its gorgeous glamping village offers excellent communal facilities with a large central tipi and a well-equipped kitchen. Book into the Finnish BBQ cabin or gather around the crackling fire pit, before relaxing in the barrel-shaped sauna hut or in the indulgent outdoor hot tub. Shared bathroom cabins also have everything you need and are complete with modern, flushing toilets and hot water showers.

Hidden on the outskirts of the village youll find your quirky accommodation which includes four futuristic domes in their own secluded country setting. Savour their sweet, solar powered fairy lights and the romantic candle lanterns, along with the rich coloured fabrics and thick, woollen blankets.

Theres the beautiful Meadow Hide Unidome with its handcrafted oak exterior and the spectacular Woodland Hide Unidome with its clear, country view panels. Both have sumptuous double beds and a toasty gas heater, beside sheepskin rugs and snug hot water bottles. A single camp bed is also available in the deluxe Meadow Hide, making it suitable for up to two adults and one young child.

Two luxury Geodomes can also be found scattered around the glampsite, with clear panels, private bathrooms and their own kitchenette cabins. Roaring log burners keep them cosy and warm, while sink-in double beds are topped with fluffy duvets and throws. Each dome also has two single futon beds, making them suitable for up to two adults and two little heads.

When it comes to things to do you really are spoilt for choice, as you can treasure peaceful, country days or endless outdoor adventures. Enjoy picnics in the meadows or afternoon tea in the woods, before quad biking, Segway trekking or clay pigeon shooting. After an exhilarating day, you can sit beneath star-studded skies, swapping stories about your day and toasting marshmallows on the fire.

If you dont fancy cooking then theres even a caf on the Estate where you can enjoy delicious local dishes and homemade cakes. Ripon and Bedale can also be found nearby, along with the pretty, little villages of Kirklington and Carthorpe.
