  The Detail...

With its idyllic location, Byrnglas Cottage is ideally positioned in the wondrous Welsh valleys. This 19th Century detached stone cottage has been lovingly restored to its former glory by the owners. The blend of modern and rustic aesthetics means that this charming 19th Century cottage retains its country charm, while providing all the mod-cons to make this an ideal stay for couples, families and small groups. 360 views of the surrounding undisturbed countryside provide the perfect setting for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. So, whether you're seeking a quiet getaway tucked in doors in front of the cosy wood burner or looking for a base from which to explore the beautiful South Wales countryside, you can't go wrong here.

Throughout, the cottage has been decorated to the highest of standards, combining the old with the new to create a seamless aesthetic which is sure to make guests feel right at home. The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen along with a dining area for four. The living room's large stone and brick fireplace houses a cosy wood burner, making this the perfect space to relax on one of the two comfortable sofas. The upstairs has two bedrooms: one double and one adult twin. Both are well lit and benefit from skylight windows. The modern bathroom has a large walk in shower. The exterior is perhaps the most striking feature that Brynglas has to offer. The cottage is encircled by a well-kept garden, complete with outdoor furniture. This provides the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding valley.

Brynglas sits in a picturesque Welsh valley in the village of Rhandirmwyn, right on the fringes of the storied Cambrian Mountains. The Royal Oak and Towy Bridge inns are both fine country pubs, offering top notch local food and ales. Other nearby towns worth a visit include Hay-on-Wye, Builth Wells, Tenby or Aberaeron. For the outdoorsy types, the area is home to various biking and cycling trails and the nearby River Towy offers fantastic fishing opportunities. The cottage has easy access to the Cambrian Mountains and Breacon Beacons. Both offer beautiful nature hikes and arresting scenery. Should you wish to explore the Welsh coastline, then Cardigan and Carmarthen Bay both offer fun seaside days out.
