The Detail...
This stylish boutique escape on the Dorset coast offers peace and tranquillity, while still being just a stone’s throw from all the attractions of this popular holiday spot. Built in the 1930s, the semi-detached cottage has since been lovingly renovated and now perfectly blends old and new. With recycled and reused items used wherever possible, rustic charm meets modern luxury in this three-bed holiday home which sleeps up to five people.
Guests enter into the hall, which in turn leads into the light and sunny lounge overlooking the secluded front garden with its seating area; perfect for a morning cup of coffee or glass of wine in the evening. The lounge has a smart TV and an original fireplace. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen/diner, which as well as having a table and chairs seating five people, is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, and microwave.
Upstairs are the three charming bedrooms, two of which are doubles and one is a single. One of the doubles also has an en-suite WC and wash basin, while the cottage’s shower room is found on the ground level. At the rear of the property is a small courtyard with a washing line.
In terms of its location, it doesn’t get much better than Brook Cottage for those who want to get out and about and explore Lyme Regis. Its array of quaint shops, pubs, and cafes are just a short walk away, as is the cultural hub, The Town Mill - which boasts galleries and restaurants. The town’s famous microbrewery and taproom is also only a minute from the cottage.
Of course, probably the most well known thing about Lyme Regis is its beaches, situated as they are on the UNESCO Jurassic Coast. Famous worldwide to fossil hunters, there are also some fantastic walks and the sea is great for water sports and fishing. There are several music festivals and other events going on throughout the year, too in this bustling coastal gem.
