Situated in a perfectly secluded setting near Lake Coniston, this five star holiday home has everything you need for a memorable group get away, be it with family or friends. With an outdoor cedar hot tub, barrel sauna and grounds that take in woodland, grasslands, a wildlife pond and even it’s own stream, Bracken Ground ticks all the boxes.
Inside, the sitting/dining room boasts large comfortable leather sofas, a modern wood burning stove and a flatscreen television (complete with SKY HD and SKY sports) - perfect for some cosy family time. The ample dining table easily seats ten and takes in lovely views through the patio doors. The styling is elegant with bright white walls and beautiful wooden floors.
The spacious kitchen and breakfast room is wonderfully welcoming. With slate floors, modern units and lovely views out of the window, it’s a delightful space to enjoy your breakfast or late morning cup of tea. And with an electric oven, LPG gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and plentiful crockery you have all you need to keep the whole group well fed. And the dishwasher means there will be no arguments about who washes up after dinner.
A separate snug offers up the perfect place to nestle down with a book or to plan your day’s adventures. With plenty of OS maps and walking guides provided, there is lots to inspire you.
Sleeping up to ten, Bracken House has four double bedrooms (two en suites) and a twin room. All the double rooms have Feather and Black king-size beds, contemporary styling and crisp white linen. And the muted tones make for beautifully tranquil rooms. The Master suite has a more boutique feel with a handsome seating area and modern en suite shower room. There are also two further bathrooms - one with an impressive Fired Earth walk-in shower whilst the other has a sublime Fired Earth bath. All the bathrooms are dazzling - not to mention sparkling clean.
Outside there is a charming cedar hot tub, barrel sauna and seven acres of grounds. There’s also a seating area and BBQ for some quality al fresco dining in these exquisite surroundings. With woodlands, meadows, a wildlife pond and stream, it’s a truly delightful place to explore. And don’t forget your binoculars as the local wildlife is fantastic with buzzards, bats, badgers, deer and owls - just to name a few.
Located near beautiful Lake Coniston means there is plenty of fabulous walking in the immediate area. For those after outdoor pursuits, two local centres, Bigland Outdoor and River Deep Mountain High have most bases covered with everything from gorge walking and canoeing to clay pigeon shooting and fly fishing. A trip to the town of Coniston is also worthwhile with most visitors heading there to take a river cruise on the Coniston Launch or steam yacht gondola.
