The detail

Sitting amongst 10 acres of Hampshire farmland, mixing old world charm with luxurious, modern features, this former-milking parlour is the perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil place to unwind in comfort.

Guests arrive on the expansive gravel courtyard to be greeted by this characterful flint, brick and timber building. The modern renovation of the property was carried out to retain the character of this lovely barn, and once inside, visitors will be pleasantly surprised with the light, modern rooms.

Step directly into the large kitchen and dining area. This grand space is bright and filled with all of the conveniences cooks need for creating delicious dinners and brilliant breakfasts. Tuck into family feasts at the large wooden farmhouse table - it's the ideal spot for guests to come together and enjoy relaxed meals while taking in the views through the patio doors across the courtyard and beyond.

After meal times, close the door on the post-dinner debris and head to the impressive lounge where ancient timber beams criss cross along the double-height vaulted ceiling. Collapse into the large, comfy corner sofa and settle in with a glass of wine for movie night in front of the 55 inch television.

On those long, warm summer days, make the most of the late sun and step through the patio doors, which lead from the kitchen to the patio area. Take dinner outside and enjoy meals at the outdoor dining table, or light-up the BBQ for sizzling sausages and grilling halloumi over hot coals.

The 10 beautiful acres ensure there is plenty of space for children to roam and dogs to play, and outdoor games are supplied meaning you can enjoy some great family games of croquet or rounders.

When bedtime beckons, there are two beautiful bedrooms to chose from, both ensuite and immaculately furnished. With super-comfy Hypnos mattresses, snuggly duvets and tranquil surroundings, guests are sure to enjoy a deep, uninterrupted night's sleep.

Boxsteddle Barn makes a great base for exploring the local area. Take city breaks to pretty Winchester or historic Portsmouth and visit the Mary Rose, Henry VIII's famous flagship. Or, wander through the local hamlet, Ramsdean, which sits in the South Downs National Park. Have a downland stroll and finish the day with a meal at one of the great local pubs. The Ye Olde George Inn at East Meon boasts Inglenook fireplaces, comforting Sunday roasts and a pretty riverside location.
