Enjoy the great outdoors that camping provides but with no concession made on luxury with &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas, a classic Tanzanian safari experience with 5-star treatment.
The private mobile camp is made up of 9 tents and moves every year in order to follow the Great Migration of animals. Due to its mobility guests are given the perfect viewpoint for this amazing natural spectacle.
In each campsite there is a dedicated sitting and dining tent, which includes deep sofas to relax in and custom made Indian rugs and polished brass samovars to add a touch of elegance. Guests can either dine inside or under the stars, with chandeliers, silverware and sparkling crystal the perfect accompaniment to a wonderfully prepared meal.
The accommodation tents have large, comfortable beds with fluffy duvets and seating and there is also 1 family tent, with children over the age of 6 welcome on the expedition. A butler service means that those staying are always attended to, ensuring their trip is one to remember. There is also WiFi in the tents and flushing toilets and hot bucket showers.
There are 2 journeys to choose from with &Beyond that are either 8 or 11 days long. They both explore the shores of Lake Manyara and the surrounding forests and craggy cliffs. It then heads into the vast plains of the Serengeti, taking in views across to the seemingly never ending horizons from the Ngorongoro Crater. See migrating herds of wildebeest and zebra and watch lions climbing trees.
Immerse in the wildlife with the daily game drives that give front row seats for the Great Migration. Shorter trips go twice a day, or spend the whole day out exploring with a picnic lunch included. Watch the dramatic river crossings across Grumeti and Mara, or when the wildebeest are calving in Ndutu. Alternatively, get a bird's eye view from one of the hot air balloon trips. These leave at dawn and offer a unique perspective of the panoramic Serengeti as elephants walk to the watering hole and warthogs forage for food. Photography fans can also go on a specially designed photographic safari.
