Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
Occupying a magnificent converted barn in Romney Marsh, Beckets Barn is an award-winning eco-lodge and bed and breakfast, with a suite to rent. Offering a luxury experience, fantastic breakfasts and one private contemporary suite, Beckets Barn is the perfect choice for anybody looking to take a restorative break in the stunning Kentish landscape.
Your suite is housed in a former cowshed, meaning that it is detached from the main barn. Inside you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing time away, from a king-sized bed made up with organic sheets, to a full-size oven and hob, with Nespresso machine and the expected kitchen amenities. Guests can use the WiFi to work or entertain themselves, watch a film on the television, or unplug digitally and get stuck into a good book. The walls are decorated with the arts and crafts of local artists, the space is open plan, and the aesthetic is unique; this is a space designed to feel instantly like a home, rather than an anonymous hotel.
Everything about Beckets Barn has been painstakingly chosen, designed and curated to create a comprehensively relaxing and rewarding experience for guests, from the raised Mediterranean garden to the 17 metre indoor heated swimming pool. Rise at your own leisure, and tuck into a feast in the delightful dining room, with options designed to cater to every taste and dietary requirement, prepared using produce, meat and dairy prepared using local suppliers who share our ethical values. Spend your day exploring the unique landscape of Romney Marsh with its big skies, before coming home to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the eco-lodge.
There is very little reason ever to leave Beckets Barn, with its breadth of entertainment options, 17m indoor pool and full home gym. Make use of the charcoal grill on the private patio or cook up a feast from the comfort of your suite. Read, work, do yoga, or take in the landscape in your own way. That said, those with interests in cuisine, British history, literature and military structures will be delighted by the activities within easy reach. Take in the famous 13th Century Thomas a Becket church, just a short walk away, which has inspired poets, artists and filmmakers; explore nearby historic Rye with its cobbled streets; cycle or walk the Royal Military Canal, built as a defence against Napoleon; visit the haunting landscape of Dungeness and within easy reach is the iconic sandy beach and dunes at Camber.
