Overlooking the soft sands of Woolacombe Bay and out towards Lundy Island, this remarkable, modern architectural house offers unique, award-winning interior design and sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A beautiful wall of Shou Sugi Ban (burnt Japanese wood) greets you upon arrival, with the front door concealed within this facade. The interior will impress you as much as the exterior, with panoramic glass doors and windows everywhere taking full advantage of the natural beauty outside and allowing each space to flow gently into its surroundings. Modern artwork hangs proudly on the walls whilst contemporary fixtures and fittings are of an exceedingly high specification.
The kitchen lies in the middle of the house and offers every modern convenience. It is fully equipped with all the top-end appliances you could need and is stylishly furnished with marble floors and worktops, sleek, modern units and a large rustic island at its centre. It will be hard not to be inspired to create culinary masterpieces in this light-filled space.
The kitchen leads through to a magnificent living area with its huge dining room table and a spectacular bar. The dining area and main living area are divided by a bespoke, suspended fireplace, the perfect place to gather round and enjoy the expansive views around you. Comfortable leather sofas, laden with cushions and snug throws will ensure that whether you are watching the satellite TV or the views, you’ll be reluctant to leave.
Each of the four luxurious bedrooms boast a modern, stylish ensuite bathroom and offer sumptuous bedding in chic, muted colourways and opulent fabrics. Each room benefits from amazing views from their full-height windows overlooking the magnificent valley opposite. Three of the bedrooms are super-king size whilst the fourth features bunk beds.
The outdoor space is sublime with sea views as far as the eye can see and plenty of seating for alfresco dining and cooking on the BBQ or sundowners in the evening with your favourite tipple. Sprawling lawns provide space for early morning yoga sessions with vistas of the sprawling valley to each side, whilst the cedar-clad hot tub is the best place from which to soak up those amazing views.
The beach is just a 15-minute walk from the house, a lovely stretch of sand where you can enjoy water sports such as bodyboarding, surfing and kite surfing as well as swimming. Woolacombe town offers some lovely shops, restaurants and cafes as well as a choice of great pubs. Exmoor National Park, which is a stunning natural space that is perfect for those who enjoy hiking, is just 25 minutes from the house by car or a relaxing cycle ride away.
