The detail

Angram Cottage is located on the edge of Coxwold, a charming village in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll find it nestled amongst the idyllic countryside, at the end of a woodland track and beside a babbling brook. Once a barn, it has been lovingly restored and converted into a stunning holiday cottage, with all the modern amenities you could wish for. A real ‘home away from home’ it’s perfect for friends and family looking for a relaxing retreat in glorious rural Yorkshire.

The interior has been carefully decorated with soft muted tones and calming colour palettes. It’s a lovely place to unwind, especially after a long day of adventure. The open-plan living space is especially inviting, fitted with seriously comfy sofas, a smart TV and a log burning stove for cosy winter evenings. Why not grab some popcorn and settle in for a movie night, enjoy some competitive fun playing one of the board games provided or simply curl up by the fire with a good book?

Next to the living area is the well-equipped kitchen and dining area. A lovely place to prepare and enjoy a delicious meal, perhaps using some of the wonderful local produce on offer from local farm shops and delis? The dining area looks out to the terrace and garden and on warmer days the French doors can be opened to bring the outside in. The terrace is furnished with a table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining or relaxing with a glass of your favourite tipple.

Angram Cottage has two bedrooms, the Angram and Coxwold Suites. Set on the ground floor, the Angram Suite boasts views across the countryside and a super-king size bed (that can be set up as two twins on request) adorned with crisp linen, super soft pillows and a luxurious duvet. The Coxwold Suite is on the first floor and centred around an equally sumptuous king size bed. The room’s Velux windows are ideal for stargazing, which is made all the more enjoyable due to the fact that you're located in the heart of a Certified Dark Sky Reserve. Both rooms have ensuites for added privacy - Angram with a bath and Coxwold with a walk-in shower.

The popular village of Coxwold is a scenic 20-minute walk from the cottage. It’s home to an impressive 15th century church and an excellent pub and restaurant serving up wholesome country food. You’ll also be ideally positioned to explore the Howardian Hills AONB and the North York Moors National Park. Both offer miles of walking routes and cycle paths for all abilities, where you’ll be rewarded with views of the spectacular landscape. And finally, the city of York is just two miles away, famous for its cathedral, ancient city walls and castle. Why not visit the museums and galleries to soak up some culture or stroll down the cobbled streets lined with independent shops, bars and restaurants?
