In rural Snowdonia, Snowdonia Cottage is the kind of cottage you won’t want to leave. Furnished with great care and attention to detail, this four person hideaway is quiet and secluded but within an easy drive of Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast.
Rebuilt and renovated to the highest standards, Snowdonia Cottage would make a fine romantic retreat for two, but there’s room inside for a family of four. All on one level, the cottage includes both a double bedroom and a twin or king room with its own en suite facilities.
The open-plan living space is warmed by a log-burning stove, creating a lovely cosy atmosphere when it’s chilly outside. You may want to bring your slippers or some thick socks too, because the cold slate floors of the bedrooms are not made for bare feet in winter.
The luxurious bathroom with spacious free-standing tub and shower is another highlight, and your bathrobes, towels and toiletries will be waiting for your visit.
You will soon be cooking up something hearty in the kitchen, complete with dishwasher and microwave. The dining area is right beside it, and when you’re done with dinner, you can relax in the sitting room with its big corner sofa, TV, radio and iPod dock – the perfect place to snuggle in for an evening of drinks and fireside chat.
Snowdonia Cottage has its own enclosed garden and a barbecue too. You will be enamoured by the spectacular views which make Snowdonia the place to be for invigorating hikes and walks. If you feel even more energetic, you can even seek out white-water rafting or rock climbing in Bala on the National Park’s eastern fringe.
Closer still, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno remain full of coastal charm, with the latter’s Great Orme joining 13th-century Conwy Castle on the list of local must-sees. Take a tram to the top for some spectacular views, or head in the other direction for the Great Orme Copper Mines.
Ready to escape to the country? Whatever you do with your days, your return to Snowdonia Cottage will always be a welcome one.
