This rustic, luxury family cottage is the perfect place to relax and escape your day-to-day, whilst also offering you access to some of Britain’s most treasured countryside. You can curl up with a book in front of the log fire, or don your hiking gear and immerse yourself in the bracing yet beautiful countryside of Snowdonia National Park. An hour and a half’s drive from Mt. Snowdon itself, the highest peak in Wales, Machynlleth Barn offers outdoor enthusiasts and hikers a treasure chest of countryside walks, mountain hikes and beachside strolls.
This lovingly and painstakingly converted Grade II listed Cruck barn still holds all of its wonderful rural charm thanks to its exposed wooden beams, gorgeous back garden and stunning countryside views. Machynlleth Barn is ideal for couples looking for a romantic break, as well as families and groups of friends. There are two lovely king size bedrooms and another double room on offer and the barn also has an en suite shower and a separate bathroom complete with a big bath - the perfect place to relax after a day’s exploring.
The large open plan kitchen is kitted out with all the essential appliances and even has a bundle of recipe books available to help you flex your culinary creativity. You can cook a hearty meal and enjoy it with a glass of wine in the oak conservatory gazing out over the luscious green garden and countryside views beyond.
Machynlleth Barn and its surrounding area is worth visiting all-year-round. In summer you can picnic by the side of a trickling stream or go for a wander around the nearby quaint market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth. Once summer’s over make sure you wrap up warm for an autumnal stroll among the reds, browns and yellows of the countryside as the leaves crack beneath your feet. During the cold winter you can burn log after log on the fire and cosy up with a book or in front of the television. And if you visit the barn in spring you’ll witness the daffodils and bluebells of Snowdonia National Park bobbing in the warm breeze as young lambs play in the fields.
There may be no phone signal here at Machynlleth Barn, but that just helps you switch off and fully immerse yourself in the surrounding natural beauty.
