Sleeping up to five guests, Hiraeth is an eccentric retreat in the depths of Herefordshire, England. With its quirky decorations, including everything from a repurposed bicycle and an inverted antique bathtub, this renovated barn is creative innovation at its finest.
Guests will love the dedicated hot tub room, which boasts a night sky mural, offering the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, surrounded by fairy lights and candles. The smartly-decorated kitchen is furnished with a gas hob, oven, microwave and a fridge-freezer, meaning you have everything you need to prepare delicious meals for your group.
The lounge offers up two large sofas to sink into alongside a dark wooden dining table where you can enjoy a spot of family time. Outside, the impressive outdoor kitchen hosts two Argentinian grills, a wood-fired oven, gas hob, refrigerator and a butler sink. This space is apt for enjoying an evening meal amongst family and friends. A short walk away, past the owners’ house, the outdoor fire pit area is accessible for all guests, perfect for an evening spent toasting marshmallows under the stars.
Two luxuriously decorated bathrooms – complete with seamless, classic tiling – ensure relaxation at every juncture with a powerful shower and flushing toilet. Endlessly fun, one bathroom fashions a sink together with a bicycle, whilst the other is in the shape of a train-carriage. Other quirky touches inside include the carpenter workbench in the kitchen and the cleaning closet that has been repurposed from a vintage wardrobe.
With two double bedrooms and a single room, there’s plenty of room for all the family. Each bedroom offers up super comfy beds, whilst bed linen and towels are provided. The property is also complete with WiFi, electric radiators, lighting and plug sockets and vegan and cruelty-free toiletries are provided.
Nestled in the midst of the charming hills of Herefordshire, the area is inundated with activities for all the family. Uncover the sights at Moccas Deer Park, Woodbury Hill Wood or Blakemere Hill Wood, a mere stone’s throw from the property. Further afield lies the Gloucester and Hereford Cathedrals respectively, or the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibitions. Hereford similarly offers up an array of galleries and museums alike, from the Hereford Light Infantry Museum to Coningsby Medieval Museum. Apt for nature lovers, The Bluff or The Hay Bluff, a mountain ridge overlooking Hay-On-Wye, similarly poses fantastic views of the Brecon Beacons.
