This delightful holiday cottage is found in the picturesque village of Shaldon and overlooks a beautiful green. The home sits in the heart of the village and has great access to the seaside and an array of independent shops, pubs and eateries. After exploring the scenic surroundings, the cottage makes a perfect spot to relax with family or friends.
The property is a real ‘home away from home’ and has been lovingly designed and decorated by the hosts to make your stay one to remember. Although recently refurbished, it still maintains its rustic charm and character.
The lounge is split into two cosy seating areas, with plenty of space for all guests to relax and socialise. On rainy days there are books and board games to keep everyone occupied, and a TV for binge watching the latest series.
The home boasts a modern kitchen, fitted with high-end appliances and everything you could need to cook up a feast. Meals can be shared around the extendable dining table, which can seat up to eight guests, or if the sun is shining, why not dine al fresco in the pretty outdoor courtyard or picnic on the green?
When it’s time for bed, guests can retreat to one of three spacious bedrooms, two king bedrooms at the front of the property and one twin at the back. All rooms have comfy beds and super soft bedding to ensure a sound night’s sleep. The cottage has two bathrooms, one with a shower and a bath and one with a shower, as well as a utility room.
Shaldon is an unspoilt fishing village with a warm and welcoming community, a wonderful location for a family holiday. Less commercial than other Devon towns, it offers a genuine experience with lots of family-run shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Shaldon beach is just a five-minute stroll from the cottage, as are some great walks, including the South West Coast Path, famous for its spectacular views.
Across the River Teign is the town of Teignmouth, which you can travel to on the oldest ferry in England if you want to leave the car behind. The popular town has various cafes, restaurants and bars to visit and traditional seaside entertainment to enjoy. It also has a lovely sandy beach, where you can try out some watersports if you’re feeling adventurous.
