The detail

Nestled in the cliffside, directly on the coast and boasting incredible views of beautiful Start Bay, this lovely apartment is the perfect spot for enjoying the cliffside trails and the sandy coves of this magical stretch of coastline.

Days begin with guests waking up in one of the two bright and comfortable double bedrooms. The comfy mattresses and snuggly duvets offer a great night's sleep and in the morning enjoy tea in bed, propped up against the upholstered head boards with the sunlight pouring through the large windows. There are also handy bedside tables and large wardrobes with lots of space to store belongings. Both bedrooms have lovely, modern ensuite bathrooms with powerful showers and plentiful hot water, which are much-needed after long days exploring the local beaches and trails.

Plan the day over breakfast. The corner kitchen, in the open plan living area, has all guests need for whipping up bountiful breakfasts and succulent suppers. There is a Nespresso machine for quick and easy coffees which can be enjoyed at the dining table which seats four.

Throw open the two sets of patio doors and let the sunshine and fresh air in. The large patio hosts another big dinning table with benches and there are views of the green cliffs and beyond. Settle in for long lunches in the warm sunshine, or late suppers enjoying the last rays of the day. Sun loungers and a parasol provide the perfect spot for an afternoon nap before heading out for evening beach strolls as the sun sets.

When it's time to just chill, there is a large blue velvet corner sofa where visitors can put up their feet and reflect on the day. A travel chest has been repurposed as a coffee table and is large enough for resting drinks and perching plates of nibbles.

The apartment, which is situated on the grounds of Prospect House, is surrounded by large private gardens which are shared by other guests. There is also a heated swimming pool for getting a few laps in before dinner.

From the front door there are many coastal paths which wind from bay to bay. Set out to nearby Beesands and enjoy lunch at The Cricket Inn. Start Bay is one of the best spots in England for spotting seals, so keep those eyes out during the walk.
