The Details...

This charming, comfy holiday destination is situated in the heart of Long Melford on the border of Suffolk and Essex. The beautifully finished accommodation offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, whilst giving you great access to some beautiful country scenes.

There are two rooms in this boutique style property that sits separately from the main house, on the site of the former working mill. Both rooms have individual entrances to ensure they offer privacy and flexibility for guests. They form part of a Grade II listed cottage that was completely renovated in 2018 and is now found on Historic Englands Heritage list.

The Melford Room is a large, open plan ground floor space complete with a king size bed and a 40 inch wall-mounted flat screen television. There is wooden flooring throughout as the living area leads to the opulent freestanding brass bath surrounded by luxurious tiles. There is also a separate en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. French doors head out onto outdoor patio with seating and a table, so guests can sit back and unwind while gazing out across the soaring spires of Melford Hall.

Then there is the Garden Room, which also has a comfy king size bed and sits under exposed wooden beams, while a log burner keeps the room cosy and warm whatever the weather. Once again there is a large flat screen TV, as well as an en-suite bathroom with freestanding cast iron bath and walk-in shower. This rare find also comes with its own private garden, with doors leading from the bedroom outside. This is ideal spot for a morning coffee, glass of wine, or alfresco dining while enjoying the variety of fruit trees and wildlife that have made their home here.

Breakfast is included with each room and is taken in the conservatory of the main house. Then those staying can get out and explore, with the Long Melford high street and nearest pub and restaurant less than a minutes walk away. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks and bikes provided to get out on the River Stour or along the numerous nearby cycle routes.
