This gorgeous Georgian listed building in the heart of the Old Town of Hastings was originally built as a coach house and still offers a warm welcome to guests as well as a good bit of luxury. Charming rooms, delicious breakfasts and a fascinating setting make this a wonderful seaside escape.
There are five rooms to choose from, each individually furnished and with their own character but all have wonderfully high Georgian ceilings and are filled with natural light. Sash windows and feature fireplaces add a little grandeur while the interior design adds an element of fun. The inspiration for the decor comes from the seaside and they are all bright, relaxing rooms with an exciting splash of colour. Each room features a bright yellow armchair, a chaise longe patterned with green leaves or a bold red bench. The beds are all bespoke, designed and built by award-winning craftsmen and complete with Egyptian cotton sheets, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
All of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and are stocked with a luxurious range of toiletries and beauty products selected by your hosts who were top-end London hair stylists before moving to the seaside. The rooms are also equipped with Smart TVs for movie nights in and tea and coffee facilities so you can sip your morning brew from the comfort of your bespoke bed.
A generous breakfast is served up every morning in the conservatory with wonderful views over the East Hill nature park. You’ll find a menu that celebrates seasonal cooking and uses the best local ingredients. Freshly baked bread and roasted coffee are on offer with sausages and bacon from the local butcher and jams and marmalades produced a few miles inland in Battle.
Hastings and its surrounding area is a fascinating place to explore with a rich history in the architecture, castles, gardens and museums. Learn about the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066, spend the day at the beach or visit award-winning art galleries. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink, especially when it comes to seafood. Try The Crown Pub, Maggie’s Fish Bar or Webbe’s Rock-a-Nore for a delicious dinner after a busy day exploring.
