The Details...

The Gainsborough Bath Spa ticks all the right boxes for the discerning traveller looking to unwind, relax, be pampered and take in historical local sights. It was originally built in the 1800’s and occupies two Grade II listed buildings with distinguished Victorian and Georgian facades. It’s also YTL’s first hotel in the U.K.

Step through the doors and take in the stunning Georgian features mixed with contemporary luxury touches. Once you’re in though, you may not want to leave again until your stay is up. The 5* hotel is centred around Spa Village Bath with the exclusive privilege of access to the natural thermal, mineral-rich waters that Bath is famous for.

There are spa treatments galore to bring out a more relaxed you, a restaurant with an enviable wine wall that may mean a hearty breakfast and Bloody Mary on room service is on the cards, and rooms designed by the award-winning New York design studio, Champalimaud Design.
Choose from the classic room, all the way up to the Gainsborough suite. Fit for a king and queen size, they can also accommodate your little princes and princesses, as cots are available. Go for a room with a view, or spread the family out over a sweet suite.

All rooms have exactly what you need to feel welcome and switch off including flat screen televisions, Asprey toiletries, complimentary WiFi and minibar, and most importantly, come with a complimentary Bath House experience at the Spa Village, with access to the natural thermal pools from 7am to 9am and 8pm to 10pm.

Feeling particularly romantic? You could even propose to your other half and start booking your civil ceremony there and then.

If you do want to leave the luxury confines of the hotel and spa and focus on more than your wellbeing, there’s great nightlife, spectacular views of the city from its hills, and wine, whisky and gin tastings that would complement a meal at one of three Michelin star restaurants in the area and more. Walk in Jane Austen’s footsteps, marvel at the architecture, museums and galleries, and shop at independent boutiques before coming back to the hotel to plan your next visit.
