The Talbot has five different room types from the large Family Rooms to the beautifully furnished Cosy Rooms. If you’re in need of a little more space, the Family Rooms all have a separate sitting room or a seating area. These rooms have gorgeous views of the river or the lawns, luxurious super-king size beds and monsoon showers and bathtubs in the marbled bathrooms.
The four Excellent Rooms have a luxurious feel with 6ft beds (some of which are four-poster beds), marbled floors in the bathrooms and elegant, unique furnishings. These rooms also have wonderful views out over the gardens and showers and freestanding bathtubs in the bathrooms. The Big Rooms are large doubles with super-king size beds. Several of these can be made up into twins if required and all have beautiful bathrooms with marbled surfaces and showers over baths. Similar to the Big Rooms are the Good Rooms, which also feature monsoon showers over baths in the luxurious bathrooms. These rooms have king size beds and street views or views over The Talbot’s lawns. Finally, the Cosy Rooms feature double beds and large walk-in monsoon showers in the bathrooms. All the rooms retain the character of the seventeenth century listed buildings while contemporary furnishings and bathrooms bring them up-to-date.
The Talbot is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and supper and you’ll find all sorts of local treats on the menu. If you want to brush up on your own culinary skills, Malton Cookery School is just across the road with courses for all abilities.
